Seven-piece Australian psych rock phenom King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard wreaked havoc on a packed Republic Thursday night. Led fearlessly by frontman Stu Mackenzie, the band took the stage promptly at 10 p.m. and started off strong with “Digital Black” and “Vomit Coffin,” two tracks about a confused cyborg gaining sentience during a robo-apocalypse. From there, they blasted off into a career-spanning set.
